Critical Care is available through the emergency service to any pet that is seriously ill and might benefit from this type of care. If your pet should become injured, or suddenly develop an acute, life threatening disease he or she will need prompt, emergency care. While an emergency is unfolding or during recovery from a serious illness or accident, ongoing diagnostic and therapeutic care and constant monitoring of a pet’s condition may be required. A vigilant team led by a veterinarian who is specialty trained in emergency and critical care will improve the quality of care your pet receives during this crucial time, likely resulting in a greater likelihood that he or she will survive. Patients that are suffering from traumatic injury, difficulty breathing or urinating, shock, life-threatening neurologic or cardiac disease, or patients that require a blood transfusion routinely benefit from care by our emergency and critical care specialist, Annie Malouin, DVM, ACVECC. |
