  Annie Malouin, DVM, Diplomate ACVECC  
 

    Dr. Malouin earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2000 from the University of Montreal in Quebec. She then completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at Noah’s Animal Hospital in Indianapolis and a residency in emergency and critical care at the Animal Emergency Clinic in Youngstown, Ohio. She continued her training by taking a resident fellow position in emergency and critical care at the Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Malouin joined Metropolitan in 2006 and help built the Critical Care Service.  She is the current Medical Director of the Emergency Service.

    Her special interests in emergency and critical care include the critically ill cat, pathophysiology and treatment of shock, urologic emergencies, electrolytes and fluid balances, and hemodynamic monitoring. Dr. Malouin also has strong interests in wildlife medicine (especially birds of prey).  In her free time, she enjoys road cycling, triathlon, yoga, traveling, playing with her two cats, Mouche and Mais, and teaching new tricks to her dog, Carbon.
